Picked this up in hardcover for my daughter’s shelf and the binding feels sturdy for the price. Chokshi’s humor lands just as sharp as the first book, and the plot twists kept her reading past bedtime.
I was worried the sequel wouldn't match the first book’s magic, but the hardcover edition feels sturdy in hand and the story pulled me right back into Aru's world. The pacing is just as snappy, with plenty of twists that kept me flipping pages past my bedtime.
Chokshi’s writing pulls you right back into Aru’s world, and the hardcover’s cover art is even richer in person. The pacing never lets up, especially once the soul-stealing song kicks in, and it’s a worthy follow-up that left me eager for book three.
