The Napoleon plotline is so delightfully absurd that I couldn’t stop grinning through the whole escape sequence. I love how the story blends real historical details with pure cartoonish chaos, and the pacing kept me turning pages long past my bedtime.

My kid giggled through the whole escape plot—the idea of Napoleon trying to eat a crocodile is absurdly funny—and the pages held up after three rereads tonight. That final chase scene's pacing kept even my six-year-old glued to the story.
