That signed art print was a nice bonus, but the real reason I'm happy is the artwork itself. Dan Santat's panels of the marine park and the ocean scenes are gorgeous, and the way they carry the mood of Sophia's loss feels really cinematic.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from a paperback, but the art inside is gorgeous and the signed print it came with was a really nice touch. Sophia’s story at Aqualand pulled me in right away, and I finished it in one sitting.
The art in this graphic novel is stunning, especially the way it captures both the whimsy and the melancholy of Sophia's story at the theme park. I do wish the ending had a bit more closure, but the emotional journey and the free print made it a worthwhile buy.
