NY: Simon & Schuster [1950]. 8vo, 124pp. Encadernação em tecido vermelho na lombada com estampagem a preto e capas de tecido texturado azul com estampagem pictórica a preto. Guardas com ilustrações a cores; ilustrações a cores ao longo do livro. Extremidades da lombada e borda inferior ligeiramente esfregadas, algumas manchas ligeiras nas guardas traseiras (provavelmente de algo que esteve entre elas), de resto um exemplar excelente na sobrecapa original com ilustrações a cores (ligeiro vinco nas extremidades da lombada e cantos). Com dedicatória do autor, James Thurber, e uma ex-libris assinada pelo artista, Marc Simont, inserida!

 

Primeira edição. O conto de fadas sublimemente caprichoso de Thurber sobre o amor adiado tem encantado gerações de leitores, e as encantadoras ilustrações a cores de Marc Simont elevam verdadeiramente este livro ao estatuto de clássico que merece.

The blue textured cloth covers with the pictorial stamping are even more striking in person, and Marc Simont's illustrations inside are crisp and charming. This copy arrived in far better shape than I expected for a book from 1950, and the pages are clean with no musty smell at all.

The red cloth spine with black stamping looks fantastic on the shelf, and the pictorial stamping on the covers really gives it that vintage 1950s charm. This copy arrived in solid shape for its age, pages clean and binding tight, a nice find for any Thurber collector.
