Animals in Art

My two-year-old actually sits still for the whole book, which has never happened before—she's obsessed with finding the "A is for Alligator" page. The combination of real fine art with each animal keeps her asking questions, and I love that it's teaching the alphabet without feeling like a lesson.

I was nervous the art references would go over my kid's head, but the animal pairings make each letter feel like a little museum scavenger hunt. We've read it every night for a week and she's already pointing out the elephant on the letter E page.
