My kids ask for this one at bedtime more than anything else on the shelf, and I've caught myself tearing up at the train scenes more than once. The story handles the Great Migration in a way a five-year-old can follow without losing any of the history.

The signed bookplate inside the cover makes this feel like a real keepsake, and my kids actually sat still for the whole story. Only thing is I wish the book were a bit longer for older readers, but the train imagery kept my five-year-old asking questions about the Great Migration.
