I was worried this would be too young for me, but the pacing is so quick and the humor lands perfectly for any age. The hardcover feels sturdy for a book I'll definitely reread, and Chokshi's writing makes the Indian mythology feel fresh and exciting.
The story pulls you right in from the first chapter—Aru’s lie about the lamp sets off a chain of events that had me flipping pages past midnight. The paperback edition is a good size for reading in bed, and the Riordan-approved pacing definitely keeps things lively.
The hardcover feels sturdy and the pages are thick enough that I don’t have to worry about my daughter ripping them while she reads. She finished it in two days and immediately asked if the next book’s out yet—that’s the best compliment I can give.
