I’m about halfway through and the back-and-forth between Nova and Adrian keeps pulling me in—their opposing viewpoints make every chapter tense, and the pacing hasn’t lagged once. The hardcover’s pages feel sturdy too, which matters since I keep rereading the action scenes.

I was skeptical about the dual-perspective plot after the first book, but the alternating chapters between Nova and Adrian keep the tension razor-sharp. The paperback’s binding is sturdy enough to survive being tossed in my bag for a week. Definitely a worthy sequel.

The audiobook version clocks in at nearly eight hours, which felt like the perfect length for the tense back-and-forth between Nova and Adrian. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and the dual narrators really sold the whole "worst nightmare" dynamic.
