Gardes illustrées en couleurs ; illustrations en couleurs tout au long de l'ouvrage. Coiffes et bord inférieur légèrement frottés, quelques légères taches sur les gardes arrière (probablement dues à un objet placé entre elles), sinon bel exemplaire sous jaquette illustrée en couleurs d'origine (léger pli aux coiffes et coins). Avec envoi autographe signé de l'auteur, James Thurber, et ex-libris signé par l'artiste, Marc Simont, contrecollé !

 

Première édition. Le conte de fées sublimement fantaisiste de Thurber sur l'amour contrarié ravit des générations de lecteurs, et les illustrations enchanteuses en couleurs de Marc Simont élèvent véritablement ce livre au rang de classique qu'il mérite.

The blue textured cloth covers with the pictorial stamping are even more striking in person, and Marc Simont's illustrations inside are crisp and charming. This copy arrived in far better shape than I expected for a book from 1950, and the pages are clean with no musty smell at all.

The red cloth spine with black stamping looks fantastic on the shelf, and the pictorial stamping on the covers really gives it that vintage 1950s charm. This copy arrived in solid shape for its age, pages clean and binding tight, a nice find for any Thurber collector.
