The Chinese characters are printed nice and big, so even from across the room my toddler can point at them while I read the animal names aloud. The board pages have held up through countless chewing sessions, and the bright zodiac illustrations keep her flipping back to the beginning.

My one-year-old grabs this board book every morning—the Chinese characters are big enough for me to point at while she squeals at the rooster. Sturdy pages have survived plenty of drool, and the zodiac lineup gives us a fresh animal to talk about each day.

The pages are thick enough that my toddler can turn them herself without tearing anything, and each animal has both the Chinese character and pinyin clearly shown. We're doing one zodiac animal a week and she already points at the rooster and says "ji" — such a fun way to sneak in a second language
